Basata Strengthens Egypt’s Fintech Ecosystem with Expanded POS and Mobile Wallet Integration
One of Egypt’s fastest-growing fintech companies, Basata Holding for Financial Investments has launched an expansion of its digital payments ecosystem. The company announced this project in Cairo as a deployment POS network nationwide covering 120,000 terminals, alongside the application of cash-in and cash-out services for all mobile wallets.
Customers can now adopt Basata's vast merchant network at the point of sale locations throughout Egypt, without the need to visit particular service centers since transactions can now be conducted easily through local merchants.
According to Basata CEO Karim Shehata, he noted that;
“The program aims towards improving the user experience for both people and businesses by simplifying ordinary banking operations. Basata hopes to increase financial inclusion nationwide while encouraging quicker and more flexible digital payments by expanding support to all mobile wallets”.
With more than 40 million mobile wallets currently being used in Egypt, this growth is expected to facilitate digital transactions for consumers who depend primarily on mobile money for regular purchases. The process is now seamless for customers to access services like deposits, withdrawals, bill payments, and other financial operations at nearby businesses through Basata's POS network.
With over 3,200 services, including energy bill payments, college fees, insurance services, and Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) options, Basata runs one of Egypt's biggest digital payment ecosystems. Through a network of businesses and online platforms, the business offers aid to millions of customers and companies.
