“Flend Makes History as Egypt’s First Startup to Earn the National Startup Label”
“Flend founders celebrate in Cairo after receiving Egypt’s inaugural National Startup Label, marking a milestone in the country’s innovation ecosystem”

Egypt’s first tech enabled, data driven financing platform, Flend has been recognized by becoming the first company to officially receive the National Startup Label under Egypt’s newly established National Startup Charter. This is a certification awarded by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), in promoting startups that showcases innovation, scalability, and investment willingness.

To advance and promote the Startup Egypt program, a framework was designed to improve the definition, support, and integration of startups into the national economy. Flend, which serves as a provider of digital financing solutions to SMEs, has been labeled as the original recipient, leading the way in Egypt's new era of being an entrepreneur development.

By giving acknowledged businesses access to incentives, accelerated regulatory involvement, and increased exposure to partners and investors, it demonstrates Egypt's commitment to establishing a more organized and transparent environment for technology-driven initiatives.

Nehal Helmy, co-founder of Flend, highlighted that, "The Startup Label is a powerful validation of our innovation-driven model and our commitment to supporting SME growth." He further emphasized that the recognition displays both Egyptian's government efforts alongside Flend to ensure a developed and competitive startup landscape.

More organizations are expected to obtain official recognition as a result of the certification, which will establish an organized structure for investment and growth. This initiative will help Egypt attract more venture capital and establish itself as a hub for innovation in the region.
