A Malawian e-commerce startup, Madyo has introduced a platform that connects restaurants and diners in Malawi to offer food delivery, grocery services, and e-commerce solutions. The application is built to deliver advanced dining experiences by uniting restaurants with customers through a reliable delivery network.
The system creates a digitized format from every step which entails placing an order to finally making your payment. It is intended to increase the transparency that occurs for both consumers and restaurant partners in Malawi’s still-developing food delivery system.
In a nation where the tech ecosystem is growing, startups such as Madyo are driving innovation in logistics and consumer services. Also with the rise of smartphone usage in Malawi, the system is driving mobile-first solutions in dining and shopping.
Madyo, which was recognized in 2025 for its innovative approach to transforming Malawi's digital economy and empowering local entrepreneurs by National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) , also diversifies to operate at the intersection of logistics, e-commerce, and software development, driven by a mission to build a more connected and empowered local economy.
Madyo integrates significant mobile money services in a move to promote easy cashless transactions. This aim is set to improve the user’s experience with an AI-powered recommendation engine that makes meal suggestions based on user preferences and consumption trends. The end goal is ensuring the average delivery timings is 30 minutes from real-time tracking enabling customers to trace their meals from the restaurant to their door.

Madyo started off as a school project by Mike Kachembwe, which later evolved into a full logistics and food delivery business connecting restaurants and customers in Malawi. The platform was launched in 2021 as a Malawian food delivery and logistics startup based in Lilongwe.
It connects restaurants with customers through a mobile platform that enables menu browsing, ordering, and real-time delivery tracking. The service integrates mobile money payments and helps restaurants expand their reach while offering users convenient access to diverse meal options.
