SOOR, a Bahraini insurtech startup, has secured an undisclosed pre-Seed investment from Spring, a venture studio and ecosystem builder backed by Salica Investments and Bahrain’s Al Waha Fund of Funds.

The investment will support SOOR’s product development, expansion of partnerships with insurance providers and improvements to its customer experience. The startup also plans to strengthen its Bahrain operations while exploring regional expansion.

SOOR’s raise highlights an opportunity for African and Black entrepreneurs to build technology around financial services that remain fragmented, paperwork-heavy or difficult for consumers to navigate. Rather than competing directly with established insurers, the startup is positioning technology as the bridge between customers and traditional providers.

The deal also shows how early-stage capital can be paired with regulatory and operational support.

Spring describes its model as combining capital, mentorship, product expertise, investor connections, and support that can be particularly valuable for founders building regulated fintech and insurtech businesses.
