Egyptian edtech company UMAMI E-Learning Solutions is investing more than $1 million in an AI-powered learning platform as demand grows for technology that connects education with workforce development.
The company has committed more than $1million to develop its new Learning Operating System (LOS), which is designed to use artificial intelligence to connect learning, skills development, workforce readiness and performance management.
UMAMI operates across more than 35 countries, providing digital learning and workforce-development solutions to governments, educational institutions and businesses.
The investment points to a growing opportunity for African and MENA technology founders beyond conventional online education. AI-powered platforms that help companies and institutions identify skills gaps, measure employee performance and improve workforce readiness could become increasingly important as African economies face persistent skills shortages.
UMAMI’s expansion also shows the potential to build locally relevant AI infrastructure for education and employment rather than relying solely on imported learning technologies.
